HIM Internship

Welcome the the web log of the Harding International Missions Internship! This blog is a tool designed to help our interns and hosts share with each other and our friends and family the experiencs we are having as we live out God's mission this summer. We hope it will be a source of encouragement that will keep us connected to and in prayer for each other.

We're Waiting!

Every year our children look forward to the summer, and not just because they get out of school. They know that when summer comes, that means that the interns are coming! One of the biggest blessings for host families of the internship is the interaction you will have with our children. You will become their friends, mentors, and mabye even heros! So I wanted to give my children a chance to talk to the interns who will be staying with us to help give all of you a taste of what you have to look forward to!

Aidan says to the guys: "I want you to know I have a workshop, and you can help me build. I know you like work. And never mind about that building stuff, because we have a swimming pool in Togo too and I heard you guys like to swim too."

Abby adds: "I'm excited for you to come and have tea parties and I would like you to know that we have a market in Kara that we can go to. There is also a really big waterfall in Togo that we can go to during the rainy season."

Aidan again: "And, buddies, we can go on hikes. Big mountain hikes. And we could slingshot birds. Once on a hike we had our slingshots in the car and saw some birds we could shoot and eat, but we couldn't because the slingshots were in the car."

And finally, from Asher: "Jeeesuuuusss!"

So much to look forward to! We are really excited for all of you to begin your adventures, and are looking forward to hearing from you on this blog over the next few weeks about all the amazing things God does through and around you!
